The structure is what makes it distinct from co-op: you are racing other teams for eggs, so other Pathfinders are a direct obstacle, not a backdrop. It is the one mode where competition is built in rather than optional.

Co-op and the social hub

Beyond Egg Heist, Aniimo's social layer is the Homeland — each Pathfinder owns a personal RV parked at a campsite in the open world where you can meet and interact with other players. Returning to Homeland lets you plant crops, build decorations and arrange your space with Aniimo.

This is where co-op and casual social play live: visiting, building and sharing rather than competing.

Single-player is fully supported

If you prefer to play alone, the listing confirms single-player as a mode. Catching, Twine, evolution and exploration are all playable solo; multiplayer is an option layered on top, not a requirement. You will not be forced into Egg Heist to progress.
