Aniimo on Xbox: Series X|S Release Date and Store Details

Aniimo launches on Xbox Series X|S on September 16, 2026, as a free-to-play download from the Xbox Store. The store listing is linked directly from the official Aniimo site, and the date comes from Pawprint Studio's official launch announcement published on August 26, 2026.

Xbox is in the first release wave with PS5 and PC. Mobile arrives a week later, on September 23, 2026.

What is confirmed for Xbox

What has not been confirmed

Be careful with any site that states these as fact. As of August 31, 2026, Pawprint Studio has not published:

1. Xbox One support. The official listing covers Xbox Series X|S only. An Xbox One version has not been announced.
2. Game Pass inclusion. Aniimo is free to play, so Game Pass is not needed to play — but no inclusion, perk or Ultimate benefit has been announced.
3. Xbox Play Anywhere. This would let one purchase cover Xbox and Windows, and would matter for cross-progression. It has not been confirmed.
4. Xbox Cloud Gaming support. Not announced.
5. Performance targets. No resolution or frame-rate targets, and no quality/performance mode toggle.
6. Install size. The 45 GB figure on Steam is PC-specific and should not be assumed for Xbox.
7. Preload timing. No announcement of when the Xbox download opens before September 16.

Crossplay and cross-progression on Xbox

Steam lists Cross-Platform Multiplayer among Aniimo's features, so cross-platform play is planned. Which platforms pair with which has not been specified by Pawprint Studio.

Cross-progression is a separate question and is unconfirmed. If you split your time between an Xbox and a gaming PC, do not assume your Pathfinder and your Aniimo will follow you between them until this is stated officially. Treat your choice of platform as a commitment for launch week.

Xbox or PC?

Both start on the same day, so the decision comes down to hardware and preference:

• PC has published specs. The minimum is an Intel i7-9700 or Ryzen 5 3600X, 12 GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 or RX 6600, with 45 GB of storage. Check the full PC requirements before deciding.
• Xbox has no published performance target. If you want a guaranteed frame rate, PC with a known spec is the more predictable choice.
• Console is the lower-friction option. No driver updates, no storage maths, no settings tuning.

If you already own both, consider where your friends will play — cross-platform multiplayer is listed, but the specific pairings are not.

1. Pre-register on the official site so the account-based milestone rewards reach you.
